Our story

A trail-riding club with deep local roots

CRTR has been part of the Campbell River equestrian community for decades, through booms, quiet years and everything in between.

Club history

Campbell River Trail Riders was founded by a small group of local riders who wanted a place to meet, ride and put on friendly competitions. What started as a handful of families has grown into a multi-discipline club with an established facility and camping area.

Community involvement

The club regularly partners with local businesses, Horse Council BC programs and neighbouring clubs to run clinics, youth days and open schooling weekends. Volunteers keep the ring, jumps and camping area running.

Recent challenges & the road ahead

Like many small clubs, we've had ups and downs, from rebuilding footing, replacing aging equipment and rebuilding membership after the pandemic. Looking forward, we're focused on growing junior participation, keeping the camping area healthy and hosting a full season of shows across all three disciplines.
